What Carwosh is
Carwosh is an operations platform for car wash and laundry businesses. It manages vehicle queues, laundry orders, customer notifications, washer payouts, and loyalty tracking. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.
Data we collect
We collect two categories of data: data about your business and data about your customers.
Business data
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and business details — including your wash name and location information. This information is used to set up your workspace and link it to your account.
If you add staff, we store their names and any access credentials they use to log in. Washer payout records — amounts owed per session — are tied to the staff profiles you create.
Customer data
Carwosh records vehicle number plates and, where provided, phone numbers for customers who pass through your wash. For laundry operations, it records customer names, contact details, and item descriptions (carpets, sofas, curtains, etc.) along with order references. This data powers the queue display, ready-to-collect notifications, and repeat-visit loyalty tracking.
We do not collect payment card details. Carwosh does not process direct payments on behalf of your business.
Usage data
We collect standard server logs — page requests, error events, and session activity — to keep the platform running and to diagnose problems. This data is not linked to individual customer profiles.
How we use this data
Data collected in Carwosh is used exclusively to run the platform:
- Vehicle plates and status are displayed on the lounge board so customers can track their car through the queue. Laundry order references are tracked the same way — through receiving, washing, and ready stages.
- Phone numbers are used to send ready-to-collect and loyalty messages via WhatsApp or SMS. For laundry, messages are sent when washing starts and again when the order is ready. Messages are sent only at those points — never for marketing.
- Washer names and car or order counts are used to calculate payout amounts at the end of a shift. This data is visible only to operators with the correct access level.
- Business and account data is used to authenticate logins and maintain your workspace.
We do not sell your data or your customers' data. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside of delivering Carwosh functionality.
Third-party services
Carwosh uses a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Business and customer data is stored in Supabase-managed databases. Supabase operates under its own privacy and data processing terms.
- WhatsApp Business API / SMS providers — used to send customer notifications. Phone numbers are passed to these services only at the point of sending a message.
We do not share data with any other third parties.
Data retention
Your account data and wash records are retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, you can request deletion of your data by contacting us. Customer records — plates, phone numbers, and wash history — are retained as long as they are associated with your active workspace.
You can export or delete customer records directly from your dashboard at any time.
Data security
All data is stored in encrypted databases hosted on infrastructure managed by Supabase. Access to your workspace is protected by authenticated login — either via Google or a one-time magic link sent to your email. We do not store passwords.
The lounge board is a public display — vehicle plates and queue status shown on it are intentionally visible. No phone numbers or personal contact details are shown on the board.
Your responsibilities as an operator
When you use Carwosh to record customer plates, phone numbers, or laundry order details, you are responsible for informing your customers that their details are being collected and used for notification and loyalty purposes. This applies equally to car wash and laundry operations. This is a basic transparency obligation under data protection laws in most jurisdictions.
